Thinking of Warm Weather

This time of year we're starting to make adjustments for the warm weather. We want to take this time to talk about your roofing. We've had a few posts about your roofing during the winter and how it's important to make sure it can withstand the extra weight of snow. For summer, the issue with roofs are entirely different.

While important all year round, during summer, we like to focus on the importance of making sure your roof is insulated. If not properly insulated, your home can get really warm and cost you extra money on utilities. Old roofs tend to absorb a lot of heat and can cause your attic and upstairs to be a lot hotter than the rest of your house. Similarly, if it's not properly insulated, cool air produced by your HVAC system can escape. Both of these scenarios are causing your home too be hotter than necessary and putting more strain on your air conditioning to cool your house. A professional can perform an energy audit and see if you are losing energy through your roof. If you have any questions, contact an expert in roof installations in Garnet Valley PA.
