Fences in Advance NC are a relatively low-maintenance investment for the security
and comfort they can provide. However, certain factors other than age
can determine the lifespan of your fence.
- If you have a wood fence, apply a protective coating immediately upon getting a new fence by staining or painting it. Then, routinely check for broken or missing panels, missing or loose nails and screws and damaged hinges and wood.
- If you have an aluminum fence, rinse it with a hose. Work upward and back down to prevent dirt from dripping and streaking. Sponge with mild soap and water for residual spots and rinse immediately with clean water.
- If you have a vinyl fence, rinse it with a hose. For tougher stains, use a gentle bleach scrubbing cleanser such as SoftScrub and a soft cloth on white vinyl, and opt for bleach-free alternatives for colored vinyl.
