Getting a New Roof

I am a building manager and my office building is definitely one of the older buildings in the area, but I was very surprised when I learned that the roof was in extremely poor condition. After years or taking the easy route and patching holes, it was time for a completely new roof. I contact a local Lansing MI industrial roofing company to take on the job. They offered great guarantees on my new roof!

Gutter Woes

I never really worried about the gutters on my house...until they started to break! One day as I was leaving for work, I noticed that a chunk of our gutter had fallen off the side of our house onto our yard. I was astonished and, quite frankly, a little freaked out! I had never heard of such a thing happening before. When I called the local experts to have my gutters in Chesterfield County VA repaired, they told me that when you aren't properly maintaining and cleaning your gutters, something like this is bound to happen eventually. I was a little embarrassed that I didn't already know that and had let this go too far, but they assured me that this is a pretty common occurrence, and as long as I keep an eye on things it shouldn't happen again.

Summer Sun

The summer heat is no joke in Texas, so patio covers in Fort Worth TX are a must! I found a great company who was able to install a beautiful patio cover at a very reasonable cost. They gave me a free estimate, and the appointment for service was easy to make and I was able to get it scheduled almost immediately. The team worked diligently to get the patio cover up, and ran some tests before leaving to make sure that it was sturdy. It's such a joy to be able to spend time outside on our deck in the shade!

What to Do About a Broken Garage Door Spring

It’s morning and you’re rushing to get out of the door and to the office. You press the button on your garage door remote control expecting to see the door open all of the way but it doesn’t. Now what? The root of the problem could very well rest with a broken garage door spring.

Where Is the Spring?

Look up towards the top of the garage door and chances are you’ll be able to instantly confirm or deny if the spring is broken. That’s where the springs are located. They are normally tightly wound and range anywhere from 1.75 to 2.25-inches in diameter. You’ll typically find them in the center area and they normally work in conjunction with the system’s cables, cable drums, rollers and tracks.

Why Did It Break?

Over time, the garage door springs may unwind, become unbalanced or break due to a number of factors. For instance, the overhead door could exceed the weight limit of the spring, thereby causing it to snap. It could also just succumb to old age because like other items, all garage door springs have a standard cycle. With that said, in many cases the springs will fail after approximately 10,000 uses.

If you have a broken garage door spring, contact a local professional on garage doors in Cape May County NJ.

Silence Your Noisey Garage Door

If you've noticed that your garage door is making strange noises, there are a few differen things that you can try to fix the issue. One of the most common solutions to a loud garage door is replacing the insulation strip.

The insulation strip under the garage door may need to be replaced to prevent the garage door from banging shut. Check to see if your current insulation strip is worn. If so, you can purchase a new insulation strip and install it yourself.

If you have done the following and your garage door is still noisy, then you may consider hiring local Central Saanich BC garage door service professionals for inspection who will be able to find the true source of the problem.

Video Surveillance for Safety

I recently had a local Bolingbrook IL video surveillance professional come to my home to install cameras for added security. This put my mind at ease on those days when I spend hours on hours at the office. The best part was that I could check on my home remotely through a video stream on my phone!

A Work of Art

I recently started running a daycare service out of my home. When I started the company, I knew installing a fence would need to be one of my first priorities. I needed a sturdy fence to help create a great outdoor area for the kids to play. After hours of research on the best styles of High Point NC fences, I decided on a wooden privacy fence. Once the fence was installed, I decided it would be a great idea to let the kids paint it. Now, I have a great fence AND a work of art!
