Summer Deck Tips

With the start of June tomorrow, we are in full summer mode here. That's why we want to be sure to share some helpful tips to get you through the summer. Here are some great deck tips provided by a Lebanon TN decks professional.

Safety:

• There's a good chance you'll host people on your deck this summer. Be sure to check for damage to the surface of your deck, including cracked boards and popped nails, and make any necessary repairs!
• Take a few minutes to walk around your deck and check that your railings and banisters are in good shape and sturdy. If there's any movement or give when you push on them, it may be time for repairs or replacements!

Staining:

• It is a great time to prepare your deck for the summer by staining it. Test your stain before applying it to your entire deck! Choose an inconspicuous spot and stain a small patch to ensure you'll be happy with the results.
  
• When staining, start with the vertical railings or banisters. Doing so will allow you to clean up any drips when staining the remaining sections.
