- Storing
holiday presents. The garage is a great place to hide wrapped presents!
Just make sure to keep them off the ground away from any dirt or moisture and
put them in an opaque plastic bag to protect and conceal them.
- Lay down
parking mats. With so much snow and ice around, it’s a great idea to invest
in one or two parking mats in your garage. These mats will catch snow and ice
that falls off of your car, preventing you from accidentally dragging any into
your home or slipping as you enter or exit your vehicle.
- Heat it
up. Sealing and insulating your garage will work well to keep heat in, but
it isn’t going to generate new heat. If you spend a lot of time in your garage
during the winter months, it may be worth installing a unit heater. A space
heater will also be effective, just be sure to keep it a safe distance away
from any flammable surfaces.
- Be Safe! Is there a fire extinguisher in your garage? What about a carbon monoxide detector? Whether you use your garage for storing extra gasoline for the lawn mower, or warming up your car in the morning, you should always be prepared for potential safety hazards!
