This snow we got yesterday reminds me of a story I want to share with you guys.

My friends had recently gotten married and we're buying a house in Connecticut. They found the perfect home and were so excited to move in. For the months up until the settlement they had made so many plans to decorate and have people over.

This was the first time either of them had considered buying a house so they were a little naive. They had assumed the entire time that everything was fine with the house. They eventually got around to having an inspector come out and inspect the home for any damages. They assumed it would just be a formality and they would get the house.

However, the inspector found a lot of water damage in the roof and attic. He thought it was been cause by sitting snow from the past winters. They ended up getting the house but the process was drawn out and there was a lot of negotiating between them and the seller.

I hope this reminds you not put off any home inspections and don't always assume that everything will turn out fine. It's really important to get home inspections in New Canaan CT.
